SOAPS PROGRAM

You Can Make a Difference!

Imagine this. You have a sudden fall in the yard and break a hip. You're driving and you suddenly realize you don't remember the way home. When these things happen, and your loved ones can no longer care for you, you find yourself in a strange place....a place you don't want to be, surrounded by others who feel the same depressing circumstances. There's no reason to get out of bed.

Then some caring people come. They bring color back into your life. There's something to look forward to! That's what the S.O.A.P.S. program is - an art program for seniors who need a boost. We are asking for a small commitment. One afternoon a month would be great, once a week even better.  Please consider volunteering to help with this effort. Every Thursday, we need help mixing paint, suggesting where to put the colors, cleaning up the brushes.

We meet at Stone Oak Care Center, 505 Madison Oak Drive, San Antonio, TX  78258, (210)  481-9000, across from Baptist hospital at 1:00 p.m., Thursday.  By 3:00 p.m., we're finished and out the door, feeling very good about the color we put into someone's day.

Call Shirley Bland at  830-885-7476  if you can help. You can make a difference!
